New Members Orientation

Now that you have made the transition from a guest to a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, we ask that you attend our New Members Orientation class.  The class is led by our very own Senior Pastor, Larry Adams.  We know how it is getting adjusted to a new family and we want the transition to be as smooth as possible.  The purpose for the New Members Orientation is to teach a few core beliefs of Christianity and to assist in becoming familiar with our church (mission, vision, core values, etc.).

The Orientation involves seven (7) sessions, conducted each Sunday at 8:00 a.m., during our regular church Sunday School period.    If you miss a particular week’s session you may attend that session upon it’s next offering.  The right hand of fellowship will be extended upon completion of all (7) seven classes.  Listed below are the session titles for each session.

  •    Week 1 – BE SURE OF YOUR SALVATION
  •    Week 2 – PUBLICLY DECLARE YOUR FAITH
  •    Week 3 – SHARE JESUS WITH OTHERS
  •    Week 4 – STUDY YOUR BIBLE
  •    Week 5 – LEARN TO PRAY
  •    Week 6 – BE FAITHFUL TO A CHURCH
  •    Week 7 – TRUST JESUS TO DIRECT YOUR LIFE

Now that you are adjusted, let’s take the next step in becoming an active member by using your talents and gifts to serve in the various ministries here at Mt. Zion.

Regardless of age, our desire is for each member to be growing and serving in ministry.  Mt. Zion membership is not just “another ritual” in church. We don’t want you to join Mt. Zion and gradually disappear.  We believe people grow when they are serving God.  Serving God in the church is a rewarding experience.  Personal and spiritual growth is enhanced when we serve each other “as unto the Lord.”

Thank you for becoming a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
